First Responders Space Subdivision Framework for Indoor Navigation

چکیده

Indoor navigation is crucial, particularly during indoor disasters such as fires. However, current spatial subdivision models struggle to adapt the dynamic changes that occur in situations, making it difficult identify appropriate space, and thus reducing accuracy efficiency of navigation. This study presents a new framework for specifically designed first responders, with focus on improving their response time safety rescue operations buildings. The an extension previous research incorporates combustibility factor critical variable consider fire disasters, along definitions safe unsafe areas responders. An algorithm was developed accommodate evaluated using Pyrosim Pathfinder software. calculates walking speed factors affect path enhancing chances successful evacuation. captures changes, smoke levels, may impact which were not accounted studies. experimental results demonstrate can suitable paths leading evacuation little 148 239 seconds. proposed represents significant improvement over studies has potential enhance effectiveness responders emergency situations.

Space Subdivision for Indoor Navigation

The aim of the research was to develop conceptual model for determination of functional areas with abstract borders within indoor space and to illustrate how determined functional areas can be applied to facilitate wayfinding process in indoor environments. The objectives of the research were to define criteria for determination of functional areas of objects by adopting principles of human beh...

Spatial subdivision of complex indoor environments for 3D indoor navigation

As we realize that we spend most of our time in increasingly complex indoor environments, applications to assist indoor activities (e.g. guidance) have gained a lot of attention in the recent years. The advances in ubiquitous computing made possible the development of several spatial models intending to support context-aware and fine-grained indoor navigation systems. However, the available mod...

Generation of navigation graphs for indoor space

This paper proposes a comprehensive approach to computing a navigation graph for an indoor space. It focuses on a single floor, but the work is easily extensible to multi-level spaces. The approach proceeds by using a formal model, based on the combinatorial map but enhanced with geometric and semantic information. The process is almost fully automatic, taking as input the building plans provid...

Non-GPS Navigation for Security Personnel and First Responders

This paper introduces a “Personal Dead-reckoning” (PDR) navigation system for walking persons. The system is useful for monitoring the position of emergency responders inside buildings, where GPS is unavailable. The PDR system uses a six-axes Inertial Measurement Unit attached to the user’s boot. The system’s strength lies in the use of a technique known as “Zero Velocity Update” (ZUPT) that vi...
